Abstract
The use of bamboo as reinforcement has been frequently employed in the construction world today. Although bamboo can be used as reinforcement, efforts are needed to enhance the strength of concrete, one of which is through confinement techniques. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of the configuration shape of bamboo stirrups on the bending moment of bamboo- reinforced concrete beams. The research conducted involved a flexural moment test on bamboo- reinforced concrete beams, with the independent variable being the variation in the configuration of the stirrup reinforcement and the dependent variable being the flexural moment. The test specimen used has dimensions of 15x15x65 cm with a concrete quality of 25 MPa. The flexural moment test was conducted based on ASTM C78/C78M. The research results indicate that the configuration of bamboo stirrups affects the flexural capacity of the beam.The configuration of the stirrups (cross, horizontal, diagonal) has flexural moment values of 1.76 kNm, 1.68 kNm, 1.62 kNm, and without stirrups (normal) at 1.52 kNm, respectively. The best stirrup configuration for increasing the flexural moment of bamboo-reinforced concrete beams is the cross stirrup configuration with a flexural moment value of 1.76 kNm.
