Abstract

Design and Build (DB) project is implemented, because of its complexity and urgency. Because of the urgency to be functione, Al-Huda Mosque of Unmer Malang project was implemented using this DB system. It was said that the mosque had to be functioned by March 2023, when the Ramadhan session began. Due the limited time, the DB system was chosen. The DB system integrated design team and build team as one
team work. The aim of this study is describe the implementation of DB project of Al-Huda Mosque. Descriptive-depictive method was used to elaborate process of the DB project. Some factors were significant for the project completion. The ability of design team, the ability of construction team, the ability of project manager and the ability of the owner played dominant roles. The design team worked fast because of the contextual concept to design similar with the former buildings around the campus. As one team, every week each role met, coordinated intensively to evaluate the progress and minimalized conflicts. The intensive coordination was managed to meet the goals; providing DED, contracts and procurement documents. The changes of job volume affected the progress, that’s why the project factor needed to be defined clearly. From the hard process at last project completed, indicated by the operation of the mosque in the beginning
of Ramadhan 2023. From the DB project, it was recommended to sort the job description clearly to minimalize the conficts although in DB system the DB team worked as one.
