Abstract

Recently, tourist destinations have bounced back after being hit by a pandemic in the last two years. Ngadas Traditional Tourism Village, administratively located in Poncokusumo District, Malang Regency, is one example of a village that has natural
resources and local wisdom that has the potential to develop more; it also experienced a decrease in come due to the lack of tourist visits. There are inhibiting factors that need to addressed in developing local communities. There needs to be a community development strategy based on local wisdom in supporting the economic and socio-cultural sustainability of the community sustainably. This research uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach—data collection techniques through observation, interviews, literature studies and documentation. The results of the study show that efforts to develop the social welfare of local communities are less than optimal because there has not been proper harmonization between the development of human resources, group institutions, community capital and productive businesses, as well as appropriate information.
