Abstract

This study explains efforts to control specific interventions in the implementation of stunting prevention policies in Malang Regency amid the turmoil of COVID-19 cases as the Government seeks to reduce the prevalence of stunting, refocusing the budget demands priorities for handling COVID-19. The Malang District Health Office, as the leading sector of stunting prevention policy, encounters obstacles to the implementation of specific nutritional interventions periodically. Medical personnel in the field, such as Puskesmas Nutrition Officers, Village Midwives, and Human Development Cadres, were also overwhelmed because they were forced to adapt to the COVID 19 pandemic, without giving up their obligation to organize specific nutritional intervention services periodically through Integrated Healthcare Center and regular visits. The availability of public health services through Integrated Healthcare Center every month only runs with certainty due to the dynamics of the spread of COVID-19 which is different in each region. In addition, restrictions on patient visits to the health center and the fear of the public conducting regular consultations require officers to move to reach out to the target groups of interventions. The results of the author's research explain the need for a series of detailed regulations as technical guidelines on every aspect that requires pengendalian in the implementation of specific nutritional intervention services to prevent stunting in Malang Regency, including cost control, Mendis personnel control, control of health service availability, as well as administrative and bureaucratic control
