Abstract

Information on resistance to CPMMV is needed and is the basis for implementing selection and breeding programs for resistance to CPMMV. The aim of the research was to evaluate
and obtain CPMMV resistant soybean genotypes. Research on the resistance of soybean genotypes to CPMMV was conducted in Madiun from May to July 2020. The material used was the germplasm collection in Balitkabi Malang which consisted of genotypes resistant and susceptible to Cowpea mild mottle virus (CPMMV), namely MLG 0120, MLG 0278, MLG 0377, MLG 0298, MLG 0237, MLG 0177, MLG 0105, MLG 0240, Gumitir and Argopuro. Factorial Randomized Block Design consisting of two factors and three
replications. 30 plants were planted for each variety and genotype and then mechanically inoculated with CPMMV. Observations were made on the number of branches, the number of fertile nodes, the number of filled pods, the weight of the seeds planted and the intensity of disease attack. The results showed that the MLG 0120 genotype had the highest level of resistance, with an attack intensity of 24.50% in the resistant category. The genotypes MLG
0278, MLG 0177, MLG 105, MLG 0240, MLG 0377, MLG 0298 and MLG 0237 had an attack intensity of 26.11%; 31.5%; 37.3%; 40.8%; 47.1% ; 48.6%; and 49.5% moderately
resistant category. The genotype with the slightly vulnerable category had an attack intensity value of 52.4%, namely Gumitir, while the most vulnerable genotype was Argopuro with an attack intensity of 75.7% which was categorized as vulnerable.
