Abstract

Gondowido is a village located in the outskirts of Ngebel Lake which have potential to coffee development. Gondowido’s coffee have a different taste from other regions but it still limited existence. The farmers use traditional way to treat of coffees so that productivity is still low. The purpose of this PKM activity is to increase knowledge and
skills in the manufacture of grass based compost and its application, as well as increase knowledge and skills of coffee cultivation for Gondowido’s farmer which can increase a coffee productivity in the village. The partner’s problem faced is the lack of knowledge and skills about the function of grass around coffee which can be used to compost that is a source of nutrients for coffee plants. Another problem is the lack of knowledge and skills of partners about coffee cultivation. The methods used in this PKM activity include
planning, preparation of composting sites, preparation of training activities, implementation of activities, and monitoring and evaluation. The results of this PKM activity can be seen from the increase in knowledge and skills of farmers in Gondowido village which is shown from the pre-test and post-test scores after training in making compost by 80% and by 75% after coffee cultivation training
