Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of macroeconomic conditions including inflation rate and interest rate on exports, exchange rate, and economic growth in Indonesia. This study is associative under a quantitative approach. It is carried out on the website of Bank Indonesia and the Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics. Sample is chosen based on time series data of quarterly period in January 2003 - June 2014 using saturated sampling method, and there are as many as 46 samples. This study uses path analysis with three (3) common sub-structures. Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that simultaneous inflation rate and interest rate have a significant effect on exports; inflation rate and interest rate have a significant effect on exchange rate of Rupiah; and inflation rate, interest rate, exports, and exchange rate of Rupiah affect economic growth significantly. In addition, partially, inflation rate has a significant and positive effect on exports; interest rate hasa significant and negative effect on exports; inflation rate has a significant and positive effect on exchange rate of Rupiah; interest rate have a significant and negative effect on exchange rate of Rupiah; inflation rate and interest rate have no significant effect on economic growth; exports have a significant and positive effect on economic growth; andexchange rate of Rupiah has a significant and negative effect on economic growth.
