Abstract

This final report is intended to explain about analyzing a problem in Gili Ketapang Island. Waste management on Gili Ketapang Island is needed, because waste management can give advantages on the islanders as well as the Probolinggo City area. The government is one of the most important parts. With the support of government the problem will be solved. The island needs procurement of
equipment, temporary shelter building, boat, staff, and funds become the main point. For example, waste collection equipment such as waste carts and bins, as well as construction of temporary shelter in Gili Ketapang Island. The government also needs boat to transport waste and move it to final disposal in Probolinggo City which is located across the sea. Waste management is certainly give another advantages, after the waste management runs and succeeds in making Gili
Ketapang Island clean and well organized, the island should be promoted to the public. Gili Ketapang Island has natural beauty underwater, such as clear water,
various coral reefs, many species of fish, and white sandy beaches makes the Gili Ketapang Island a good spot for snorkeling and diving (tourism destination). Promotion in the future aims to introduce the island to the wider community. The important advantages of waste management implementation is about economic growth. When the economy improves then will prosper the islanders as well as the area around the Probolinggo City. Improves quality of life and improves human resources.
