Abstract

This study conducted as a descriptive research to measure the impact of leadership style and motivation to teachers achievement using multiple regression to analyze sampel of SMA Budi Utomo Jombang teachers. Instrument used in this study consist of some closed model questionaire with likert scale scoring model. Leadership operasionalized in path-goal framing concept which define as 1) directive, 2) patisipative, 3) supportive, 4) delegative. Meanwhile, motivation operasionalized as the fulfilment of: 1) physiological needs, 2) safety needs, 3) social acceptance needs, 4) apreciation needs, and 5) self actualization need. Those variables analized using statistical approach to measure their effect to teachers achievent. The result show that: 1) leadership style and motivation positively affect teachers achievement, 2) leadership style didn’t partially effect teachers achievent, 3) directive style of leadership didn’t effect teachers achievent, 4) partisipative style of leadership effect teachers achievent, 5) supportive style of leadership didnÂ’t effect teachers achievent, 6) delegative style of leadership effect teachers achievent, 7) physiological needs fulfilment significantly effect teachers achievent, 8) Social acceptance needs fulfilment effect teachers achievent, 9) apreciations needs fulfilment didn’t effect teachers achievent, 10) self actualization needs fulfilment significantly effect teachers achievent, 11) partisipative style of leadership is the dominant style of leadership that effect teachers achievent, and 12) physiological needs fulfilment is the motivational factor that dominantly effect teachers achievent. Given those results, this study recommends that: 1) every decisional aspect should be interpreted as a guidance and a goal to be partisipatively achieve by every teacher, 2) physiological needs fulfilment should be put as a priority to lever teachers potential to apply at the maximum level to achieve the goal, 3) some legal instruments have to be considered to make sure teacher’s welfare.
