description: An axiom about the discrimination toward women as an inferior gender and men as a supreme gender is strongly influence to the life of communities in Manggarai. As a result, there has been inequity of the chances to the development between men and women, as well as to enchance women's role in the society. However, in general, among women themselves, there is a paradigm that politic is not their "business-, since it seems tp be "dirty" and "rough". This view causes less women are keen to involve in a political carrier, but, at the same time, it affirms the domination of men in the political arena.  The difference of gender's role in Indonesia is social issue that put women as the primary victim. This happens not only because of individual problems but also as a result of A `social construction process'. In many ways, the difference of gender's role is conditioned by Indonesian society governance which is patriarchies. Manggarai society is non-matrilineal (patrilineal). Gender differentiation between men and women is applied since the baby is born. In common, a father or a person who is trusted by the family wiil knock the door of the room where the baby was borne by asking "Ata pe'ang ko ata one?" which literally means: "Outsider or insider." Manggarai society believes that a girl is outsider and boy is insider. The impact of the sexual status (a boy or a girl) has happened since the baby was born; and it will be carried on toward his/her right and opportunities until his/her entirely life. A boy (a man) will be provided by more rights and chances in developing himself through education, politic in social life; while, a girl (a woman) is much less leaders are women. It is obvious that men are dominant in term of leadership and politic.  And the problem formulation by the research are : Flow the construct of Manggarai women political role can be in order to deVelop the participation of women in political parties?; And the objectives of this research are: To explicate and analyze women political role in Manggarai ; to find out and analyze the constraints women political role in Manggarai to construct women political role in Manggarai.
