Abstract

Stunting describes chronic malnutrition in the period of growth and
development since early life. Indonesia is still facing nutritional problems that have
a serious impact on the quality of human resources. Based on the number of children
under five, Malang Regency is higher than Malang City and Batu City. Meanwhile,
according to the total percentage, Batu City has a higher stunting rate than Malang
Regency and Malang City. So it is calculated from the number of children under
five and the percentage in Malang Regency is still higher than in Malang City.
Efforts made by the local government to issue Malang Regent Regulation Number
33 of 2018 concerning Stunting Prevention Efforts. Article 2 Efforts to prevent
stunting are intended to improve the nutritional status of the community, the quality
of human resources and the quality of the environment by involving all elements of
Regional Government, Village Government, the private sector and the community.
This effort is being made to reduce the rate of stunting in Malang Regency.
This study aims to determine the implementation of stunting prevention
policies in Malang Regency based on Malang Regent Regulation number 33 of
2018 concerning efforts to prevent stunting. This research is useful to increase the
knowledge and insight of the writer and the community about the prevention of
stunting in Malang Regency.
This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach, with secondary data
collection techniques, observation, interviews, and documentation. This research
was conducted in the area of Malang District Health Office. The informants in this
study were ASN Health Service, a resident of Sukoharjo Village who is directly
related to the problem of stunting.
The result of this research is that the implementation of stunting prevention
policies is still not optimal because there is still a large number of stunting in
Malang Regency, as well as the development of sanitation and the lack of a stunting
prevention team that is not working optimally and also giving Fe tablets which are
still uneven. The health office has not yet collaborated from the poskesdes,
posyandu, and puskesmas levels and there is a lack of budget for doubting toilets
and washing hands in all villages, and only three villages have received sanitation
development, namely Sukoharjo village, Gondang legi village and Rejjo sari
village.
