Abstract

Signboard is one of yhe infrastructure in the campus area that must be available in order
to easily find the location of a building or a agency. The absence of a signboard belonging to
the Industrial Enginering study program makes it difficult for the public or student to find the
location, even though there is a signboard belonging to the Faculty of Engineering which
contains the sentence Industrial Engineering. The purpose of this study is to find out the
proposed signboard design that is appropriate for Industrial Engineering study program by
using the Quaity Function Deployment (QFD) method. Taing criteria is done by interviewing
the expert and processed using the Delphi method. After knowing the criteria for making a
design proposal, then it is processed using the House of Quality (QFD).
The result showed the need for a signboard for Industrial Engineering study program.
This signboard is in the form of a neon box and is made by acrylic, with a background size is
250x150 cm in black, acrylic neon box in size of 125x125 cm in white. The height of the letter
uses a size of 5 cm, a distance of 2 letter 1.25 cm, and space distance is 3.33 cm. On the
backgrouund there is the writing UNMER in white and orange, and then Quality University
sentence in orange. In neon box all sentence are black except th Engineering Faculty sentence
using orange. And the location of this signboard laying on the souther outer fence of the
Faculty of Engineering.
