Abstract

The everlasting debate about the culture of media in the traditional market environment, it can reveal
various norms of strengthening the social structure controlled by traders as the main driver. Similarly,
the results of a 2016 study of the role of market participants in cultural developments in traditional
market environments have found a high level of awareness amongst traders to obtain various
information, both related to its position as commodity regulator (agent oriented) and as individuals
(actor oriented). Density of information submitted by traders comes from the print media, television,
online and so forth. This proves the dual role of the merchant, through self-presentation and mobile
devices, with personal and communal information illustrated in the form of front stage and back stage.
Relying on a social fact paradigm, and an ethnographic approach supported by interactive qualitative
analysis, it can explore in depth and simultaneously analyze various data sourced from the main
informant. A semi-participatory observational form was undertaken to avoid the manipulation of the
subjectivity of the researcher, and supported an in-depth interview to discover the self-concept of the
merchant. The results can be described as follows: (1) Experienced traders always master the
presentation themselves (front stage), Readiness of information obtained from various media (middle
stage), With the perfect proprietary ethics of communicating (back stage); (2) Traders play a role that is
based on the achievement (business oriented) in a prime and reliable (front stage), Able to reveal
